Add a Library record

Add missing artists, pieces, and movements privately or submit them to Cadenso's public Library.

Open in Cadenso

Add a Library record when an artist, piece, or movement is missing. During creation, choose whether to keep the record private or submit it for review so other musicians can find it.

Choose private or public

  • Private saves the record for your account only. Choose this when the information is personal, incomplete, or not ready to share.
  • Submit to library sends the record for review. Choose this when the information is accurate and would help other musicians. The record remains available to you while it is reviewed and becomes public after approval.

If a submission is declined, the record remains private and you can keep using or editing it. The review result appears in your notification inbox.

Add an artist and piece

  1. Open Library and choose Add piece from the actions menu on mobile or the button on desktop.
  2. Search for the artist. Select an existing artist or enter a new artist’s name.
  3. Search for the piece to avoid adding it twice. If it is missing, enter its title and any other information you want to include.
  4. Choose Private or Submit to library.
  5. Select Add piece, or Add artist and piece for a new artist.

You can also choose Add piece from an artist’s page.

See the naming guide for examples. Once saved, you can add the music to your repertoire.

Add a movement

Open its piece and choose Add movement. Enter the title, use Movement number to set its order, choose Private or Submit to library, and save it.

Edit or delete

Open an artist, piece, or movement and choose its edit action. Changes to a private record are saved directly. You can also submit a private record for review while editing it.

For a public record, choose Suggest a change. The update is reviewed before it is published.

You can permanently delete only your private records. Cadenso prevents deletion while a record is used in your repertoire or by other Library entries. Archiving a repertoire item keeps its Library connection, so it still prevents deletion.
