A practice type describes the work you did in a session and helps you see how you spend your time in Statistics.
For example, choose Sight Reading when reading a concerto for the first time and Repertoire when working on it later. Both sessions can belong to the same music item.
Available practice types
- Repertoire — work on a piece or movement you are learning or maintaining.
- Technique — technical work such as scales, arpeggios, chords, tone, articulation, or coordination.
- Exercise — a focused drill or exercise.
- Etude — work on a study or étude.
- Sight Reading — reading music without preparing it in advance.
- Improvisation — creating or exploring music as you play.
- Theory — score study, analysis, harmony, ear training, or other theory work.
- General — practice that does not need a more specific classification.
- Lesson — a lesson, coaching session, or similar guided work.
- Other — work that does not fit the available choices.
Cadenso suggests the item’s default practice type when you record a session. You can change it for that session; built-in technique items use Technique.
